Mom's Gingersnaps

So that Mom won't lose her gingerbread recipe again I'm posting it on the blog for her! I've never made them myself but maybe one of these days I will.

1 cup shortening
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1/2 cup molasses
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
2 tsp ginger
3 tsp soda
4 cups flour

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs and beat well. Add molasses and beat again. Add flour and spices mixed together. Roll into balls a little over an inch in diameter. Roll in sugar and then place on a cookie sheet & flatten cris-cross with fork.

Bake at 350 for 9 minutes.
